Physical Copy Status: What We Know
A Valor Mortis physical copy has not been confirmed by publisher or developer channels at this stage. Official announcements center on a digital launch across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, scheduled for October 13, 2026. That does not rule out a retail edition later, but nothing official exists today.
Physical editions for mid-budget Soulslike titles are often announced in one of three ways, and none has appeared for Valor Mortis so far:
| Signal | What It Means | Status for Valor Mortis | | Retailer listings (GameStop, Amazon, etc.) | Usually the first leak point for physical editions | No confirmed listing | | Publisher retail partner announcement | Official boxed or collector's edition reveal | Not announced | | Limited-run partner (e.g., collector's publishers) | Small-batch physical runs for digital-first games | Not announced |
Any third-party site claiming to sell a Valor Mortis disc or boxed edition before an official announcement should be treated with caution. Stick to the official Steam store page and the PlayStation Store listing.
Digital Buying Options Compared
Until a physical release is confirmed, digital storefronts are the only legitimate way to purchase Valor Mortis. Here is how the confirmed options compare:
| Platform | Store | Format | Launch Price | Player Format | | PC | Steam | Digital | $39.99 | Single-player | | PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store | Digital | $39.99 / €39.99 | Single-player | | Xbox Series X|S | Microsoft Store | Digital | $39.99 | Single-player |

How to Track a Potential Physical Release
If a boxed edition matters to your purchase decision, follow a disciplined tracking routine instead of relying on rumor threads.
Follow the official announcement hub
Bookmark the Valor Mortis Steam announcements page. Retail edition news, if it comes, will appear here first alongside patch and content updates.
Join the official community channels
The official Discord (linked in Steam announcements) and the r/ValorMortis subreddit are where publisher posts spread fastest. Development staff share concept art and behind-the-scenes content on Discord.
Check major retailers periodically
Search GameStop, Amazon, and regional game retailers monthly after launch. Physical editions for digital-first games often surface weeks or months after release.
Verify before buying anything
Confirm any physical listing against an official announcement. Disc-only resellers and pre-order scams are common around anticipated Soulslike launches.
Decide your threshold
If you only buy physical, wait for official confirmation. If you want to play at launch on October 13, 2026, digital is the only confirmed route.
Valor Mortis is a single-player, buy-once title from a mid-sized studio. Games in this category frequently launch digital-only and receive limited physical runs later, so a boxed edition remains possible even though none is announced.
What You Get Either Way
The purchase format does not change the game itself. Whether digital now or physical later, the confirmed content includes:
| Feature | Details | | Setting | Alternate Napoleonic-era Europe with plague and supernatural horror | | Perspective | First-person Soulslike combat | | Combat systems | Melee, swordplay, firearms, magic, dual wielding | | Exploration | Metroidvania-inspired routes, shortcuts, hidden areas | | Content scope | Side quests, bosses, roughly 20 hours of story | | Protagonist | William Dowsett, a resurrected soldier |
Valor Mortis is designed as a single-player experience, which makes it a strong candidate for collectors who prefer physical media. That same trait means the digital edition also works well for offline play setups.
